Biography
of
Panyacekka
Panyacekka
was born in Chaungboke
Village, Ann Township, Rakhine State,
Myanmar in 1981. His parents are U
Ba San and Daw
Ma Sein Mya and he
has one elder brother and one elder sister; he is a youngest one among his
family members. His young name was
Maung Shwe Tin Maung. He started his basic primary education at the
basic education primary school at his native village,
Chaungboke
in 1988 and continued his further basic education at
Tattaung
Basic Education High School at
Tattaung village, in 1993. In 1997, he received ordination for
novice in Buddha’s sasana
under the preceptor, U
Khemavamsa, the abbot of the monastery in
Chaungboke. He passed the examination of primary Level so called “Muladan”
in Buddhism education, which is held by the Ministry
of Religious Affairs of Myanmar in 1998 and pre-intermediate level in Buddhism
education so called “
PahtamaNge” in 1999 from
Ratanapala Monastery (Learning School) in
Minbra Town, Rakhine
State, Myanmar. Continuously, he passed the
examination of intermediate level so called “PahtamaLat
Dan” in Buddhism education at Pathein Monastery in
Sittwe, Rakhine State, Myanmar
in 2000 and high level examination (Pahtagyidan) in Buddhism education in at
Than Phyu Monastery in
Kyauk Phyu
Township, Rakhine
State, Myanmar in 2002. He rendered a service of
teacher there for one year from 2002 to 2003 there. He passed examination of
higher education in Buddhism so called
“Dhammacariya”
which is the training course of teacher education in
Buddhism at Alodawpyie Dhammacariya Pali University,
Dagonsikkan
Township, Yangon
in 2006 and so he was conferred with the title of “Sasana
dhaja dhamma cariya” by the ministry of religious affairs, which
is notified as an equivalent degree to BA in Southeast Asia Culture by the
Myanmar government. He involved in examination board as a member and took
responsibility of writing questions for Buddhist philosophy subject at that
Pali university
for one year from 2006 to 2007. He served as a teacher volunteer at
Dhammadhitthan
Monastery in south Okkalapa
in Yangon
for one year from 2007 to 2008. He earned diploma degree at the
International Theravada Buddhist Missionary
University, Mayangone
Township,
Yangon in 2009. He again took teacher’s responsibility at
Alodawpyie Buddhist
monastery (Learning School) in Tamwe, Yangon in 2009. During the years from 2009 to 2011,
following to Alodawpyie Sayadaw gyi,
he lectured meditation to the people in nationwide. He got BA in
Buddha-Dhamma
at the International Theravada
Buddhist Missionary University in
Yangon in 2011 and he passed MA in Buddhist Studies exam at
Kelaniya University (www.kln.ac.lk),
Colombo, Sri Lanka in 2012 and he earned Master Degree
of Education in Educational Administration at Assumption University (www.au.edu),
Bangkok, Thailand in 2014.
Work Experience
With purpose of assisting the students of
children and the old, he founded an association of education in
Chaungboke village, Ann Township, Rakhine State, Myanmar
in 2010 and he is currently taking service of a director of association. In
2012, he opened a free charged school named “the Youth
Development School” for the young people of Myanmar
migrant worker families in Bangkhae,
Bangkok, Thailand and he headed it for two years. In 2012, he donated a school
of dhamma so that the old
and young people can take meditation and open some young development course. Now
also, there the students of middle school are trained their related courses.
By invitation of Mr. Charles Maung Oo in LA, California, he with Alodawpyie arrived first time to the United States and went round the some states for teaching meditation - to California, Arizona, Washington, Illinois (Chicago) and Indiana. He stayed at Alodawpyie Bodhi Sukha Dhamma Meditation Monastery, California for five months because there is no monk to take care of it and he went back to Burma on December 5, 2014.
Again, according to the invitation of Mr. Charles
Maung Oo in LA, California, he arrived at United States with
Alodawpyie Sayadaw on September 2, 2014. Following to
Alodawpyie Sayadaw, venerable Dr.
Ariyawansa, he taught meditation wandering to some cities for one
months - Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, New York, Washington DC,
Maryland and Columbus. Due to that some Buddhist people in Newark, CA 94560
request him to live at Alodawpyie Meditation Monastery located at No. 6263,
Thornton Ave, Newark, CA 94560 where there is no any monk to take care of it, he
now lives there, managing Buddhist people’s religious rituals and teaching the
children from Buddhist families the Buddhist cultural courses and Burmese
Language. The Alodawpyie
Venerable Monk, the president of temple assigned him to live in his temple for
care of it and care of Buddhist people therein.
